Viable Cities
Fedra Vanhuyse, PhD, currently serves as a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies at Universiteit Gent, beginning October 2024. Since April 2018, Fedra has been the Head of Division for Societies, Climate and Policy Support at the Stockholm Environment Institute, where leadership encompasses sustainability research and projects focused on cities, food systems, and environmental policy. Additional roles include being a Finance and Procurement Specialist with Viable Cities, aiding Swedish cities in climate neutrality efforts, and previously holding significant positions at the UK National Audit Office, Medway Council, Natural Resources Institute, and WSM. Fedra's educational background includes a PhD in Agricultural and Food Economics from the University of Reading, along with advanced degrees from Ghent University and KU Leuven.

Viable Cities – a Swedish strategic innovation programme for climate neutral and sustainable cities. Viable Cities brings together some 200 actors from several different fields of research, industry, public activities and civil society. Together we are working to reach our mission – climate neutral cities by 2030 with a good life for all within planetary boundaries.
