Mark Rose began their career in 2005 as a Customer Service Representative for Canadian Linen (Toronto). In 2007, they became a Consulting Developer for Simple Machines, where they improved the performance of many SQL queries, reduced CPU usage, and improved the cachability of resources. In 2009, they joined Viafoura as a Senior Developer and Senior DevOps, where they led the operations team and designed and implemented a PHP/MySQL/Memcache stack that scaled from zero to thousands of requests per second. Theirkey achievements included designing and implementing a stack that scaled from zero to thousands of requests per second, and over 10 billion API calls per month. Mark also led schema design in both MySQL and Cassandra, data migration, and data import and export.

Mark Rose attended Northwest Community College from 2000 to 2001, studying Computer Science. Mark then attended the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) from 2001 to 2003, also studying Computer Science. No additional certifications are listed.
