Bud Broomhead

Bud Broomhead is the founder and CEO of Viakoo. Bud has over 25 years of experience in the tech industry, holding various executive positions at companies such as Intransa, Topio, Sun Microsystems, IRL Networks, and HighGround Systems Inc.

Broomhead began their career in 1988 as the Director of North American Sales & Asian OEM Operations at Epoch Systems. Bud then went on to become the GM of Europe Middle East Africa at Auspex Systems in 1992. In 1995, they co-founded HighGround Systems Inc., where they served as the COO & EVP.

In 2001, Broomhead left HighGround to join Sun Microsystems as the New Business Ventures Senior Director. Bud left Sun Microsystems in 2004 to co-found IRL Networks, where they served as the CEO until 2005. That same year, they joined Topio as the SVP of Business Development.

In 2007, Broomhead became the CEO of Intransa. Bud successfully led the company until 2013, when they founded Viakoo. Under their leadership, Viakoo has become a leading provider of cloud-enabled video appliances for the physical security industry.
