Maxwell Nelson-Gal began their career in 2012 as an Instructor for iD Tech Camps. Maxwell then returned to the same company in 2013 as a Lead Instructor, where they were responsible for teaching Adventures in Robotics with Lego Mindstorm, Robotics Engineering with VEX, Movie Making with iMovie, and Digital Film Making with Final Cut Pro. Additionally, they managed morning check in and afternoon check out, and offered advice and guidance to new instructors. In 2014, they joined Viakoo, Inc. as a Front End Developer, where they developed the web interface for operational intelligence software used in the management of physical security systems. Maxwell also served as a Software Quality Engineer, performing manual and automated monitoring of the web service and phone app, and writing automated tests in Java and leveraging Selenium to drive a Firefox browser. Maxwell also served as a QA Testing Contractor.

Maxwell Nelson-Gal's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they studied Mechanical Engineering at Foothill College from 2009 to 2010, and Film Studies at American University from 2008 to 2009.
