Sulakshana Gupta Lea-Howarth

Sulakshana Gupta Lea-Howarth is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in partnerships and strategic leadership within the communications and development sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Partnerships for East and Southern Africa at Viamo, Sulakshana supports the organization's growth in several African countries and previously held roles including Regional Director and Country Director in Rwanda. Notable achievements include establishing Viamo's Rwanda office and implementing significant digital initiatives. Prior to Viamo, Sulakshana was Head of Mission at Radio La Benevolencija in Rwanda, where leadership in social and behavior change communications was a focus. Additional experience includes consultancy for International Justice Mission and media consultation for Saferworld, along with a history of managing large-scale projects at BBC Media Action and training journalists in Sierra Leone. Sulakshana holds a Master's degree from Swansea University and a diploma from Sophia Polytechnic in Mumbai.
