Erik Ekbjörn

Erik Ekbjörn has a diverse and extensive work experience. Erik currently holds the position of Vice President Group IT and Content Platform at Viaplay Group since September 2023. Prior to this, they served as Vice President Content Platform from May 2019 to October 2023, and Vice President Business Systems from June 2018 to May 2019.

Before joining Viaplay Group, Erik was the Head of Billing and Operations at MTG Technology from January 2009 to May 2018. Erik was also involved in various leadership roles earlier in their career. This includes being the Chairman of the Board at BRF Björken 11 from May 2011 to June 2012, Chairman of the board at Husman Hagberg Östermalm from September 2008 to November 2009, and Chief Operations at Blixtvik AB from February 2008 to December 2008.

Additionally, Erik has held management positions at Dataphone, where they served as Chief Officer Operations from June 2006 to February 2008, and as Operations Manager from June 2005 to June 2006. Erik also worked as the Billing Manager at Citylink from December 2004 to June 2005.

Furthermore, Erik's work experience includes a significant role at MCI, where they worked as a Billing Manager from January 2000 to November 2004. In this role, they were responsible for billing operations in various countries, leading migrations of billing departments and focusing on standardizing processes and systems within the EMEA region.

Erik Ekbjörn's education history includes attending Thorildsplans Gymnasium from 1986 to 1990, where they completed their academic upper secondary school education with a focus on construction. Erik then went on to study at Stockholm University from 1996 to 1999, earning a master's degree in Economics. In 2002 and 2003, they attended Worldcom Training for a management program. Erik later pursued further education at MTG Academy in 2009 and 2010, where they completed a management program.
