Maria Laguarda-Mallo

María Laguarda-Mallo, Ph.D., Assoc. AIA, currently serves on the AIA Editorial Committee for AIA Chicago since September 2023. With extensive experience in design and education, María has been the Studio A100 Director at VIATechnik, LLC since April 2018, focusing on building high-performing multi-site studios and digital strategies for complex customer challenges. As a guest lecturer at multiple prestigious institutions, including Harvard University and Northwestern University, María has shared expertise in sustainable products and architectural design. María holds a Ph.D. in Bioproducts and Biosystems Science from the University of Minnesota and has held various roles in academia and design, including CEO at [LM] Design and Associate Professor at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
