Alan Yuen

Alan Yuen has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Alan began their career as a Software Engineer at Aurecon in 2005 and then took on the role of Technical Lead at Strategic Data Management from 2007 to 2008. Alan then worked as a Senior Consultant at UXC (a CSC Company) in 2008, where they handled pre-sales engineering and guided clients towards appropriate product vision. Later in 2008, Alan joined ANZ as a Senior Manager, Solution Design & Data Engineering, leading a team of technical managers and overseeing 40+ indirect reports globally. Alan also accepted an international assignment in China to manage and lead a team of engineers based in the newly created China hub. Alan's most recent role is as Head of Data & Digital Engineering at Vicinity Centres since 2014. In this position, they directed the architecture, solution design, and software development, building the company's data analytics and digital ecosystem from scratch. Notable achievements include the creation of a data platform consisting of various components such as lake house, stream analytics, visualization, machine learning, and AI.

Alan Yuen attended Monash University from 2000 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Computing degree with a field of study in Computer Science. Alan also obtained a certification in Intro to Hadoop and MapReduce from Udacity in 2015.
