Piotr Putaj

Piotr Putaj is a seasoned expert in oligonucleotide chemistry with extensive experience in both leadership and scientific roles. Currently serving as Director of Oligonucleotide Chemistry at Vico Therapeutics since August 2025, Piotr leads pioneering RNA-based research aimed at addressing rare genetic neurological diseases. Prior to this role, Piotr held the position of Associate Director at AIRNA, successfully building two laboratories, managing the synthesis and purification of approximately 5000 oligonucleotides, and contributing to key patent applications. Previous experience includes roles as Principal Scientist at MultiplexDX International, where Piotr specialized in oligonucleotide manufacturing and secured significant funding for cancer diagnostics, and as a Senior Nucleic Acid Chemist at FUTUREsynthesis. Piotr's academic background includes a PhD from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and a Master’s degree from Jagiellonian University, with a strong foundation in catalysis and synthesis research.
