Michael Hardy is an experienced professional in civil engineering, currently serving as the Manager of Project Integration at VicRoads since November 2018, after holding the position of Team Leader in the same department. Prior to this, Michael worked at VicRoads from September 2015 to September 2018, progressing through roles from Senior Project Engineer to Project Engineer. Earlier experience includes a role as Bridge and Structural Engineer at Chris O'Brien & Company, where Michael designed a variety of structures including bridges. Michael began their career at VicRoads as a Bridge Design Graduate from December 2007 to November 2010, focusing on the design and checking of structural elements. Michael holds a degree in Civil Engineering from RMIT University, obtained between 2007 and 2010.

The Victorian Government has made an in-principle decision to progress a joint venture model to support the delivery of VicRoads’ Registration and Licensing (R&L), and Custom Plates services. The purpose of a joint venture is to modernise a number of VicRoads services to make them more user-friendly for motorists and deliver value for money for Victorians.
