Infrastructure Security Lead at Victim Support

James Oxton has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. James started their career as a Webmaster at Binary Refinery, where they designed, developed, and delivered client websites. James also handled daily operations of in-house server maintenance and provided system administration for client sites.

Following this, James worked at Micro Computer Consultants Limited as a Technical Manager. James was responsible for refurbishing laptops and various computer components, executing daily network operations, and solving software and hardware issues.

James then joined Micro Computer Consultants Warrington as a Computer Technician, refurbishing computer equipment and handling network performance and backup operations.

After that, they worked at Gloucester City Council as a Senior ICT Officer, maintaining Windows servers, providing support to users, and managing a Cisco router and switch infrastructure.

Subsequently, James joined Net Support UK Ltd as an IT/Network Support specialist. James'sresponsibilities included Windows server configuration, setup and maintenance of Hyper-V and Exchange servers, and proactive resolution of client problems.

Currently, James is working at Victim Support as an Infrastructure Security Lead. James implemented an Information Security Management System and achieved ISO27001 accreditation. James also ensures the security of technology services through effective patch management.

Throughout their career, James has consistently demonstrated their expertise in IT and network support and has acquired extensive experience in various domains such as web development, server maintenance, and information security.

James Oxton attended Rock Ferry High School from 1989 to 2004, where they obtained their GCSEs at a Level C. James later enrolled at Birkenhead 6th Form College from 1994 to 1995, studying HND Computer Science.
