Brendan Cormier has extensive experience in the field of design and curatorial work. Brendan is currently serving as the Chief Curator of V&A East, where they lead the curatorial team for two new museum sites in East London set to open in 2025. Prior to this role, they worked as the Senior Design Curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum, where they were involved in various exhibition and program content development projects across all V&A sites. Brendan also has experience as the Managing Editor of Volume Magazine at Stichting Archis and as an Innovator in Residence at the Design Exchange. In addition, Brendan Cormier co-founded the Department of Unusual Certainties, a Toronto-based research and design collective specializing in urban design and planning. Brendan has also worked as a faculty teacher at George Brown College and as an urban planner and designer at Office for Urbanism and Mecanoo architecten b.v. respectively. Brendan Cormier's work experience showcases their expertise in design, curatorial work, and urban planning.
Brendan Cormier earned a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Ryerson University from 2001 to 2005. Brendan then pursued a Master of Science degree in Urban Design from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar between 2006 and 2008.
