Faorligh Hunter has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of child care and youth services. They currently hold the role of Director for Statewide Residential Services and Youth Engagement at the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Berry Street, where they held various roles including MST Clinical Supervisor, Acting Regional Director, and Assistant Director from 2019 to 2021. They also founded their own organization called Amber Mountain in 2019. Before that, Faorligh worked at SalvoCare Eastern as a Senior Manager for Youth Services from 2015 to 2019. Their responsibilities included managing a diverse portfolio of youth services and leading a team of over 35 staff members. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at MacKillop Family Services as the Manager for Refugee Services, overseeing a program that supported asylum seekers in the community. Their expertise includes program design, trauma-informed practices, and social justice frameworks. In 2010, they held roles as National Coordinator for Unaccompanied Minors (UAM) and National Coordinator for Research at the Australian Red Cross.
Faorligh Hunter completed a Master of Professional Studies degree in Peace Studies at the University of New England (AU) from 1999 to 2005. The field of study during this program included Reconciliation, Peace Studies, and Youth Participation. Later, from 2007 to 2010, Faorligh pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Cosmopolitanism and Transnationalism in Relation to the Refugee Experience at Deakin University. Although the education history does not indicate whether the PhD program was completed, the degree is mentioned as "incomplete."
