Debbie McCarthy

Debbie McCarthy is currently the Office & Finance Manager at Victorian Group Training Company. Prior to this, they spent over 8 years as the Human Resource Director for Party City, responsible for managing the HR operations for Canada, the US, and International locations. Debbie has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and began their career as a Regional Human Resource Manager for Payless ShoeSource. In this role, they were responsible for leading all aspects of HR for Canada, which included 2400 associates across 320 stores operating in nine provinces. Debbie is an expert in managing employee relations and has developed policies and procedures that are compliant with local laws in all nine provinces, including the Quebec Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages. Debbie has also led Learning and Development initiatives for Canada and has been a project lead during periods of rapid store growth.

Debbie McCarthy pursued a career in human resources after completing their undergraduate degree at McMaster University. Debbie then went on to complete a business (accounting) degree at Sheridan College.

Debbie McCarthy reports to Andrew McCarthy, Managing Director & CEO. They work with Rod Cartwright - Director, Ebony Richards - Apprentice & Trainee Consultant, and John Cheslett - Apprentice & Trainee Consultant.
