Michael Henley

Michael Henley has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Michael currently holds the position of Intellectual Property Lawyer at Victrex since September 2020. Prior to that, they worked as an IP Counsel at Sensyne Health from July 2019 to August 2020. In this role, they provided advice on commercial and legal matters with a focus on intellectual property. Michael also managed patent, trademark, and designs portfolios and oversaw the relationship with outside counsel.

Before joining Sensyne Health, Michael pursued an MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise at the University of Cambridge from September 2018 to July 2019.

Michael gained valuable experience at Taylor Wessing, where they worked as an Associate from September 2016 to September 2018, specializing in patents. Prior to that, they served as a Trainee Solicitor at the same firm from August 2014 to September 2016. Michael also had a secondment as a Trainee Solicitor at Amazon UK from September 2015 to March 2016.

Michael commenced their legal education at BPP, where they completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) from September 2013 to June 2014. Prior to that, they obtained their Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at BPP from September 2012 to June 2013.

Michael gained early exposure to the legal field as a Vacation Scheme Student at Taylor Wessing LLP in July 2012. Michael also held internships at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and Clifford Chance LLP in August 2011, where they gained experience in corporate deals and performed research duties as a Legal Assistant.

Michael Henley's education history includes a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge, which they completed from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in IP law and practice at the University of Oxford from 2016 to 2017. Michael had earlier obtained a degree in MBiochem Molecular & Cell Biochem from the University of Oxford, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. In between their academic pursuits, they attended BPP Law School and obtained a Graduate Diploma in Law in 2012 and an LPC (Legal Practice Course) in 2013-2014. Michael completed their secondary education from 1997 to 2003, attending Milbourne Lodge Senior School and later St Paul's School. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained certifications in "Improving Your Listening Skills," "Project Management: Solving Common Project Problems," and "Strategic Negotiation" from LinkedIn in October 2021. Furthermore, they hold the professional qualification of "Solicitor" from the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
