Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith is a designer and founder of The Smithy, established in November 2022, focused on integrating history into homes and classrooms across Aotearoa New Zealand. As the creator of "A History of Aotearoa New Zealand," Matthew has developed a comprehensive infographic showcasing the country's historical narrative. Additionally, Matthew serves as a digital product designer at VidApp since November 2019, where responsibilities include identifying product improvements and managing the design system. Previous experiences include roles as a junior graphic designer at Parenting Place and designer at Hello in 2019, as well as working as a warehouse agent in cargo imports at Air New Zealand in 2016. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Design in Communication Design from Auckland University of Technology, earned between 2016 and 2018, and completed secondary education at Mount Albert Grammar School from 2011 to 2015.
