Hany is an independent filmmaker and educator. Born and raised in Syria, he specializes in Arabic-language documentary storytelling as editor, producer, translator, and cultural consultant. He also teaches multimedia storytelling at New York University. Prior to pursuing a career in visual storytelling in the U.S., he worked for ten years with the Syrian Red Crescent and the International Red Cross in Damascus, Syria before and during the Syrian conflict. Hany is a Foreign Fulbright Scholar and holds an M.A. in journalism from the University of Missouri.
