Zihong Fan has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering, research, and development. Zihong started their career as a Research Assistant at Stanford University, where they developed an algorithm for electron microscope tomography reconstruction software. After their time at Stanford, Zihong worked as an Engineer at Qualcomm, where they developed automated test frameworks and analyzed application logs. Zihong then joined Google as a Software Engineer Intern, where they initiated a project on 2D to 3D video conversion. Zihong later worked at CiiNOW Inc., where they designed and developed software modules and interactive multimedia cloud streaming technology. Zihong also contributed to video encoding and decoding technology. Following their time at CiiNOW, Zihong joined Google as a full-time Software Engineer and later co-founded VideoSlick.
Zihong Fan obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University from 2002 to 2004. Subsequently, they pursued their Ph.D in Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California, completing it from 2005 to 2011.
