Namrata Mukherjee is a legal professional with extensive experience in academia and legal research. Currently serving as a Senior Resident Fellow in Legal Design and Regulation at the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy since March 2023, Namrata also held the position of Associate Senior Research Fellow. Additionally, Namrata contributed as Credit Course Faculty at the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, where an intensive Clinical Credit Course on "Queer Jurisprudence and Advocacy" was offered. The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy is an independent think-tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. We engage with Ministries in the Government of India, State governments, Standing Committees of Parliament, other agencies and instrumentalities of the state, either at Union or State level, advising on proposed legislation and regulation, assist in legislative drafting and provide independent critical analyses of existing law and policy with recommendations for reform.
