Kyle Nelson is an intern at Ocean Ecostructures since September 2024, with previous experience as an undergraduate researcher in the Theoretical & Applied Fluid Dynamics Lab at UC Berkeley, where leadership of the Mesh Network sub-team for the Swarm of Autonomous Ocean Drones Project involved designing a communication network for ocean drones. Kyle has also served as a lead engineer for the UC Berkeley Division of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers from February to June 2024, and worked as an engineering technician at C-Zero, focusing on converting hydrocarbons into clean energy from August 2022 to July 2023. Previous roles include a chemistry tutor at Santa Barbara City College and a design engineer intern at SunPower Corporation. Kyle is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, following an associate degree in engineering from Santa Barbara City College and an exchange program at Universitat de Barcelona.
