Hoda Jalali has a strong research background and has worked in various roles throughout their career. Hoda began their career at the University of Tehran as a Teaching Assistant before working as a Research Assistant. In 2018, Hoda joined the University of Pittsburgh as a Research Assistant, where they designed and prototyped new sensors for corrosion monitoring and developed algorithms for data acquisition and analysis. Hoda also served as a Teaching Assistant during their time at the University of Pittsburgh. Currently, Hoda works at VIE Technologies as a Senior Research Engineer. In this role, they have developed pattern recognition algorithms for bearing defect detection, applied trend detection algorithms for fault diagnosis, and created vibration-based condition assessment models.
Hoda Jalali's education history begins in 2009 when they enrolled at the University of Tehran to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering. Hoda completed their undergraduate degree in 2013 and then continued their studies at the same institution to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Structural Engineering, which they completed in 2016.
In 2017, Hoda Jalali enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering. Hoda is expected to complete their doctoral degree in 2022.
In addition to their academic pursuits, Hoda Jalali obtained a certification in Fundamentals of Digital Image and Video Processing from Coursera in July 2021.
