April Effort

April Effort has extensive work experience in the field of corporate development and business development. In April 2022, they joined Vigil Neuroscience as the VP, Head of Corporate Development. Prior to that, they worked at Allena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2016, where they held various roles such as Senior Director Corporate Development, Director of Corporate Development, and Associate Director, Corporate Development. Before that, they worked as an Associate at Third Rock Ventures from 2014 to 2016. They also gained experience at Boston University, Technology Development as the Director, Business Development and Associate Director, Business Development. Their early career included a role as an Independent Consultant at Arboretum Ventures.

April Effort completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan from 2004 to 2006. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology, which they completed at the University of Michigan from 2000 to 2004.
