Barney Spivack, MD is an internist-geriatrician and has been involved in the clinical care of older adults for more than 30 years, with leadership roles within hospital systems and long term care, and academic affiliation with leading medical schools. He currently is a national medical director with a leading health services and innovation company. He was President and Founder of the Connecticut Geriatrics Society and is currently an advisor and was a board member of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS). He is a Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society and of the American College of Physicians. In addition to his work with AGS, Dr. Spivack has been actively involved in work with AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, and in geriatrics and long term care through other committees, task forces and workgroups on issues including dementia care, quality improvement, and other initiatives. He has won numerous awards and has repeatedly been listed as a "Best Doctor".
