Christopher Murphy

Christopher Murphy is a seasoned scientific leader in virology with extensive experience in research and development across multiple prestigious organizations. Currently serving as a Scientific Leader at ViiV Healthcare since March 2023, Christopher has previously held significant roles at Pfizer as a Senior Principal Scientist and Principal Scientist in Molecular Virology, where contributions included key advancements in the field. Prior engagements involve leading a research program at GSK focused on novel Hepatitis B treatments and conducting groundbreaking postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina, where Christopher explored the pathogenesis of Hepatitis B Virus. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Harvard University and a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State University, complemented by a strong background in teaching and mentoring students.
