Homelab-Ops is a comprehensive Platform Engineering initiative designed to simulate, architect, and maintain enterprise-grade hybrid cloud infrastructure.

This project bridges the gap between theoretical cloud concepts and rigorous production standards. By treating a localized environment as a mission-critical data center, Homelab-Ops demonstrates the practical application of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, and Zero Trust Security in a complex, hybrid architecture (On-Premises + Google Cloud Platform).

Core Engineering Principles
We function on the philosophy that "Everything is Code." The platform focuses on:

Hybrid Cloud Connectivity: Seamless integration between bare-metal on-prem nodes (Proxmox/HP EliteDesk) and public cloud gateways (GCP) using secure VPN tunneling (WireGuard).

Immutable Infrastructure: utilization of Terraform for provisioning and Ansible for configuration management to ensure zero configuration drift.

Container Orchestration: A fully observable Kubernetes (K3s) cluster managing microservices, utilizing Helm charts and GitOps workflows for continuous delivery.

Observability & Reliability: Full-stack monitoring implementing Prometheus and Grafana to track metrics, logs, and uptime with production-level alerting standards.

Security & Identity: Centralized IAM utilizing Keycloak for Single Sign-On (SSO) and Fail2Ban for active intrusion prevention.

Technical Stack
Infrastructure: Proxmox VE, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), WireGuard.

Provisioning & Config: Terraform, Ansible, Cloud-Init.

Orchestration: Kubernetes (K3s), Docker, Helm.

CI/CD & GitOps: GitHub Actions, ArgoCD (or similar GitOps tools).

Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.

Automation: n8n for event-driven workflows and notifications.

Applications: Paperless-ngx, Homepage, Custom Microservices.

Mission
To engineer resilient, self-healing systems that adhere to modern DevOps industry standards, proving that enterprise reliability can be achieved at any scale.
