John Galason

Investigations Commander at VILLAGE OF CARPENTERSVILLE

John Galason is an experienced law enforcement professional with a career spanning over two decades. Since July 1999, Galason has served as the Investigations Commander for the Village of Carpentersville, overseeing the Police Department’s Investigation division, which includes a Detective Bureau, Gang and Drug Unit, and the evidence division. Prior roles include Police Sergeant, where Galason led the Field Training Program and managed a 14-man shift, and Police Officer, during which Galason spent six years as a juvenile detective at the Kane County Child Advocacy Center and served as a school resource officer at both Dundee Crown High School and Carpentersville Middle School. Earlier experience includes being a Police Officer at the Village of Round Lake Beach, focusing on gang-related activities. Galason's education includes a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Ashworth College, with additional training at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
