Dan Yopchick

Dan Yopchick has a diverse work experience primarily in the field of communications and athletics. Dan currently holds the position of Chief Communications Officer at the Village of Oak Park since October 2022. Prior to this, Dan served at the University of Illinois Chicago Athletics from 2015 to 2022, where they worked as the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Strategic Communications and earlier as the Associate Athletic Director - Communications.

Before joining the University of Illinois, Dan worked at Northwestern University as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they were also with the University of Illinois Chicago Athletics from 2009 to 2011, where they held the role of Assistant Director of Athletic Communications, responsible for overseeing communication efforts for men's basketball and volleyball programs.

Dan's earlier work experiences include roles such as the Public Relations Director at My Sports Dreams, Media Relations Assistant at the Chicago White Sox, Corporate Internship Program Coordinator at St. Martin de Porres High School, and Media Relations Coordinator with the Bakersfield Blitz. Dan also served as the Sports Director at KRUI-FM and had a promotions internship at WSCR-AM.

Dan Yopchick attended the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Following that, they pursued further education at Northwestern University from 2011 to 2015, obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Sports Administration.
