Larry Schroth is an experienced technology leader currently serving as the Director of Information Technology for the Village of Palatine since March 2008, where Larry provides technology services to first responders and municipal employees in a community of over 70,000 residents. Schroth oversees various aspects of information technology, including Enterprise Resource Planning, web presence, wireless communications, and voice/data networks. Prior to this role, Schroth worked as an IT Manager at Motorola from 1990 to 2007 and served on the Board of Directors for ReStore of the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity from 2003 to 2006. Palatine is a Village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is a northwestern residential suburb of Chicago. As of the 2011 census, the village had a total population of 68,858. Palatine operates under the Council-manager form of local government. Six councilmen are elected from their respective districts, while the entire village elects the Village Clerk and the Mayor. The council then hires a Village Manager to oversee the town's day-to-day operation. The current mayor is Jim Schwantz.
