Lora Baugher

Director, Information Technology at Village Shalom

Lora has been with Village Shalom since 2011. She holds a bachelor’s in social work from Missouri Western University, but has worked in technology for most of her career. She believes residents and staff should come first, not the technology she supports, so Lora will do whatever she can to ensure a resident doesn’t have to spend a night without a phone or television.

Lora was born in Sabetha – a small town in Northeastern Kansas. Lora and her husband have one son, a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. She’s admittedly a total sucker for her grandkids, and takes her obligation to “The 3 Ss of Grandparenting” quite seriously – spoil them, sugar them up, and send them home. Lora and her husband are revisiting their youth, and enjoy going to concerts of the great bands from the ‘70s and ‘80s. They’re also avid campers (if you call a 35-foot fifth wheel with a shower and air-conditioning camping) that love to travel. They particularly enjoy an island vacation with friends.

In her free time, Lora loves a good spa day, pedicure and chick flick with her daughter-in-law. She enjoys cooking and baking – especially now that she can feel like a pro with her new KitchenAid stand mixer. Kickboxing has become a favorite activity of Lora’s. It’s a fun way to stay fit, and after all, she does look great in a pair of pink boxing gloves.
