Michele Marcolongo is a distinguished academic and industry leader in the fields of biomaterials, biomechanics, and materials science and engineering. Currently serving as a Professor and Drosdick Endowed Dean of Engineering at Villanova University since August 2020, Michele supports faculty and students in enhancing educational and research initiatives aimed at societal impact. Previously, Michele held numerous significant positions at Drexel University, including Professor Emeritus, Department Head of Materials Science and Engineering, and Senior Associate Vice Provost for Translational Research, contributing to high-impact research and academic entrepreneurship. As a co-founder of InvisAlert Solutions, LLC, and Gelifex, Michele played pivotal roles in the commercialization of innovative biomedical technologies. Educational credentials include a PhD and MS in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, alongside a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware.
