Sharmila Devadoss has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. In 1994, they founded Arasan Chip Systems and served as the Engineering Manager until 2001. In 2001, Sharmila joined VinChip Systems as an Engineering Manager and later became the Founder and Director of Engineering. Sharmila also worked as the Managing Director from 2014 onwards. In 2001, Sharmila briefly worked as a Consultant for Texas Instruments. In 2016, they founded MedIoTek Health Systems and currently serves as the Founder and Managing Director.

Sharmila Devadoss obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Sharmila then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering at Portland State University from 1993 to 1994.
