Lauri Virtanen

Lauri Virtanen's work experience begins with their role as a Passionate Software Developer at Vincit since October 2019. In this position, they have been involved in full stack web development and DevOps engineering for various projects in domains such as public sector (GIS), industry IoT, parking industry, unemployment fund, and telecommunications networking.

Prior to that, from March 2016 to September 2019, Virtanen worked as a Software Design Engineer at Valmet.

Lauri also worked as a Designer at Millarte from December 2015 to February 2016, where they developed power plant information applications on Valmet DNA process automation platform as a subcontractor for Valmet.

At Valmet, Virtanen had two roles before joining Millarte. From February 2015 to November 2015, they worked as a Thesis Worker, studying and developing cloud services in process automation business and education using Azure and Valmet DNA as case systems. Lauri also served as a Trainee, Application Development from June 2014 to February 2015, where they were involved in power plant information application development on Valmet DNA process automation platform, primarily utilizing SQL, C#, .NET, LINQ, and Python.

Earlier in their career, Virtanen gained experience as a Summer Trainee, SW Engineering at Nokia in 2013.

Lauri also worked as a Part-time teacher at Tampere University of Technology from January 2012 to May 2013.

Additionally, Virtanen worked as a Research Trainee at VTT for two consecutive summers in 2011 and 2010.

Lauri Virtanen obtained a Master's Degree in Pervasive Systems and Signal Processing from Tampere University of Technology from 2007 to 2021. Lauri also participated in an exchange program at Uppsala University in 2014, where they studied Information Technology. Prior to that, they completed their Matriculation examination at Lempäälän lukio from 2004 to 2007. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance in October 2012.
