Marko Ollonen has extensive experience in software development and architecture. Marko currently works at Vincit as a Software Developer/Architect. Prior to this, they were employed at RockOn as a Software Architect from 2019 to 2023.
From 2013 to 2019, Marko worked at Landis+Gyr as a Senior Software Designer, where they were involved in the development of the Landis+Gyr Head End System, which facilitates communication and data collection between smart meter infrastructure and utility systems. Marko utilized technologies such as JAVA, Python, Scala, C#, PL/SQL, Oracle DB, Docker, Akka, OSGI/Karaf, ActiveMQ, Spring, Camel, REST APIs, CFX, and web servers.
Prior to Landis+Gyr, Marko worked at Ixonos from 2011 to 2013 as a Camera SW Specialist, focusing on multimedia development and device driver implementation. Marko also maintained other multimedia components and image processing libraries.
From 2009 to 2011, Marko worked at Digia as a Software Specialist, specializing in Linux software development for smartphones and Qt application development. Marko was also responsible for maintaining playback components for the Nokia N900 running Maemo 5.
In 2009, Marko was one of the co-founders of Mobile Care and Safety Oy, where they served as an Architect.
Before that, Marko held various roles at Nokia, starting as a Specialist from 2003 to 2007 and then as a Senior Design Engineer from 2008 to 2009. Marko was involved in software design and development.
Marko's early career includes working at Nokia Networks as a Senior SW Engineer from 2000 to 2003, and at Enermet Oy as an R&D Engineer from 1995 to 2000. At Enermet Oy, they specialized in software development for precision meters and data communications, focusing on AMR and AMM product software and meter reading implementation via MELKO and LonWorks.
Marko's first professional experience was as a Trainee at Jyllinkosken Sähkö Oy in 1993, where they were involved in database application development and SQL database design.
Marko Ollonen studied at the Raahe Institute of Computer Engineering from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a B.Sc. degree in Information Technology. Additionally, they attended Seinäjoen Lukio, although the specific years and any degrees or fields of study completed at this institution are unknown.
