Thea Smit currently serves as the Director of New Product Development at Vion Food Group, a position held since November 2019. Previously, Thea was Central Innovation Manager CTO at Zwanenberg Food Group from August 2006 to November 2019, where responsibilities included exploring new techniques and ingredients in an international context, conducting independent research, managing project teams, and collaborating with universities and research institutes. Thea also gained experience in the R&D innovations team at Zwanenberg Food Group Skunq quality food lab between August 2008 and March 2011. Educational qualifications include an Executive MBA in Food Innovation and Sustainable Transition from Nyenrode Business University, an executive program in New Food Strategy, a certificate in Pro Payback Selling from TACK International London, and a Bachelor of Life Sciences from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences.
