Vir Biotechnology
Jacqueline McBride serves as Vice President of Translational Biology at Vir Biotechnology, Inc., since January 2025. Prior to this role, Jacqueline was a Distinguished Scientist at Genentech, where responsibilities included managing biomarker scientists and leading cross-functional teams for major clinical assets in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Jacqueline progressed through various positions at Genentech, including Senior Director and Disease Area Leader, contributing significantly to IBD and Infectious Disease research initiatives. Before Genentech, Jacqueline completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Immunology at Stanford School of Medicine and earned a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Vienna. Early research experience included a graduate student position at Novartis Research Institute, focusing on immunology, and a visiting fellowship in transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh.
