Jennifer Towne has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Jennifer is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Vir Biotechnology, Inc. Prior to this, they held various roles at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, including Sr. Vice President Immunology Discovery and External Innovation, Vice President, Immunology Discovery, Sr. Scientific Director, and Scientific Director. Before joining Janssen, they worked at Amgen as a Principal Scientist in the Inflammation Research Department, focusing on preclinical research, target discovery, pharmacology, and drug development. Jennifer also completed a post-doc at Immunex.
Jennifer Towne earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from Whitworth University, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Jennifer later pursued a PhD in Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, and Microbiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine from 1996 to 2001.
