Johanna N. Dobbs is a seasoned professional in sign language interpretation and education, currently serving as a Sign Language Interpreter for the Virgin Islands Department of Education since September 2016 and at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden since June 1995. With extensive experience as a Sign Language Consultant at Hands to Inspire, Johanna acts as a liaison to Deaf communities and provides education in American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. Additional roles include ASL Instructor at the University of the Virgin Islands and former Sign Language Interpreter at Milestone Staffing, ensuring effective communication for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Earlier experience includes positions at the United States Sentencing Commission and various legal consultancy roles. Educational credentials include a BA in Justice Studies from North Carolina Wesleyan University and certificates in Paralegal Studies and ASL & Interpreting from Georgetown University and Gallaudet University, respectively.
