Kathy Thompson

Kathy Thompson is an experienced art educator with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as an Art Teacher for Virginia Beach City Public Schools since August 2016, Kathy teaches a variety of courses including AP Studio Art and Advanced Art. Previous roles include High School Art Teacher at Norfolk Public Schools, where responsibilities included managing classroom budgets and participating in annual fine arts festivals, and Advanced Placement Studio Art Reader for Educational Testing Service from 2006 to 2012. Additional teaching positions were held at Phoenix Union High School District, Peoria Unified School District, and Xavier College Preparatory, where Kathy provided comprehensive art education across multiple levels and contributed to extracurricular activities and senior class events. Kathy holds a BFA in Art Education from the University of Arizona.
