Michael Jackson serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Government and Legislative Affairs for Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA). In his role as CFO, Michael oversees VCHA’s long and short-term financial planning and manages revenue, expenses and cash flow to ensure the ongoing solvency and compliance of the organization. As Director of Government and Legislative Affairs, he works as an advocate for community health centers at the state and federal level on legislative and policy issues.
Michael is a forensic accountant with over 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors. Prior to VCHA, he served for 14 years as Director of Forensic Accounting for JE Inc., an independent consulting firm, where he provided forensic accounting and healthcare fraud detection services. In addition, he served for three years as Chief Financial Officer for Open Cities Health Center, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), based in St. Paul Minnesota.
Michael is a Certified Fraud Examiner and has provided technical assistance to multiple federal, state, and local health care agencies, including the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Michael received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from North Carolina Central University.
