Anissa Brown

Anissa Brown is an experienced environmental planner currently serving as the District Assistant Environmental Manager at the Virginia Department of Transportation since September 2014, where responsibilities include assisting in the planning and directing of the Northern Virginia District’s Environmental Program. Prior to this role, Anissa worked at Caltrans from September 1998 to August 2014, holding positions as an Associate Environmental Planner, Environmental Planner, and intern. Notable achievements include managing complex projects like large-scale highway bypasses and contributing to the development of the STEVE-Statewide Tracking Environmental Vehicle Exchange database. Anissa holds a degree in Geography, Regional Transportation, and GIS from California State University, Fresno, and a diploma in Technology and Engineering from Madera High School.
