Rashed Islam

Rashed Islam, PE, PTOE, serves as the Traffic Design Team Leader and Traffic Design Engineer at the Virginia Department of Transportation since September 2018. Prior to this, Rashed held the position of Assistant Engineer Traffic at the New Jersey Department of Transportation, contributing to the Route US 322 and Route US 40/322 Adaptive Traffic Signal Design Project. Rashed's experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Associate at The Ohio State University, focusing on passenger Origin-Destination flow analysis using Wi-Fi detection, and as an Assistant Engineer at the Roads and Highways Department in Bangladesh, leading efforts to assess and modify road design standards. Rashed holds a Master’s Degree in Civil (Transportation) Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil (Transportation) Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
