S. Mitchell Ball

S. Mitchell Ball, PE, LS, DBIA, is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in transportation and construction project management. Currently serving as the State Cost Estimation Engineer at the Virginia Department of Transportation since June 2011, Ball has established VDOT's Cost Estimation Office and enhanced project estimating practices statewide. Previous roles include leading the Staunton District Construction Program and managing significant projects like the Dulles Corridor Metrorail project. Ball's extensive background in project controls and engineering began at Moore Brothers Company, where skills in estimating and construction management were developed over an 18-year tenure. Ball holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology/Surveying from West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
