Steve Scherr

Steve Scherr is a retired professional with extensive experience in training and operations within the transportation sector. From 1993 to present, Scherr served as the Maintenance and Operations Training Manager for the Virginia Department of Transportation, where responsibilities included the development and delivery of technical training for 7,500 employees, focusing on safety materials and compliance with OSHA/VOSH standards. Scherr also held roles as Training Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor, and participated in the National Transportation Training Directors program from 2007 to 2010. Prior to this, Scherr worked as a Police Officer First Class for the Fairfax County Police Department from January 1977 to January 1993. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Police Administration from George Mason University and an Associate of Applied Science in Police Administration from Northern Virginia Community College. Currently, Scherr operates as an Independent Contractor for C G Performance, delivering heavy equipment to VDOT maintenance and operations crews.
