Douglas Vaughan Jr. began their career in 1995 as Administrator in Training at Williamsburg Landing. Douglas then became the Assistant Administrator at Walter Reed Convalescent Center from September 1995 to June 1996. In June 1996, they were promoted to Administrator at York Convalescent Center, a position they held until April 1999 when they were promoted again to Senior Vice President at Virginia Health Services, Inc. Douglas held this position for over 10 years until December 2020 when they were appointed as President & CEO at VIRGINIA HOME.

Douglas H. Vaughan Jr. has a Graduate Certificate in Long-Term Care Administration from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Concentration in Business/Economics from Randolph-Macon College.
