Nathan Dowdy

Nathan Dowdy serves as the Chief of Staff for the Virginia House of Delegates since September 2022. Previously, Nathan worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Legislative Affairs Program Specialist, where responsibilities included tracking legislation and coordinating with senior staff on legislative priorities. Other roles within the Commonwealth included Policy Advisor for the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security, Personal Aide to Governor Ralph S. Northam, and Special Assistant to the Secretary of Finance. Nathan's earlier experience includes serving as a Data Entry and Coder for the Virginia Criminal Sentencing Commission and completing internships with the Office of the Secretary of Finance, the Office of Senator Janet Howell, and the Supreme Court of Virginia. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government, as well as a degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness from Virginia Commonwealth University, along with an Associate's Degree from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.
