Brianna McCarthy

Brianna McCarthy, CPA has a diverse work experience in the field of finance and accounting. Brianna began their career at BDO USA, LLP in 2013 as a Pathway to Success Participant. Brianna also participated in various programs at other prominent firms such as Grant Thornton LLP, Deloitte, PwC, and McGladrey, further enhancing their skills and knowledge.

In 2014, Brianna joined KPMG US as an Audit Intern before becoming a Graduate Assistant at James Madison University. This experience provided their with the opportunity to develop their expertise in auditing and gain valuable academic exposure.

Returning to KPMG US in 2015, Brianna held the positions of Audit Associate and later Senior Audit Associate, where they honed their analytical skills and conducted comprehensive audits for clients.

In 2019, they joined The Port of Virginia as a Financial Reporting Specialist, contributing their expertise in financial reporting. Brianna was subsequently promoted to the position of Financial Reporting Analyst III in January 2021.

Brianna McCarthy, CPA, completed their education at James Madison University. Brianna obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Accounting from 2010 to 2014. Following their undergraduate studies, they further pursued their education at the same university and obtained a Master of Science in Accounting degree from 2014 to 2015. In November 2016, Brianna obtained their Certified Public Accountant certification from VBOA - Virginia Board of Accountancy.
