Mariko Harper MD MS FACC serves as the Director of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center of Excellence at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, where Mariko founded the only HCM Center of Excellence in Washington, providing comprehensive care and advanced therapies. As Program Chair of the Cardiovascular Service Line Symposium, Mariko leads the largest cardiovascular event in the Pacific Northwest. In addition, Mariko is a Core Faculty member and Chair of the Scholarly Activity Committee for the VMFH Cardiology Fellowship, contributing to education and research mentorship. As Physician Lead for the VMFH TeleHealth Program, Mariko advises on the strategic expansion of telemedicine. Mariko also co-directs the "Food as Medicine" initiative, blending medicine and nutritional science. Currently, Mariko serves as Co-Chair of the Cardiology and Innovation Council at CommonSpirit Health and as an affiliate investigator at the Benaroya Research Institute, managing multiple cardiology clinical trials. Mariko holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Columbia University and a Doctor of Medicine from The University of British Columbia, alongside extensive training in cardiology.
