Tim Sims is the current Vice President of Commercial Lending at Virginia National Bank. Prior to their current position, Tim was a Treasury Management Sales Officer at both SunTrust Bank and Bank of America. In this role, they were responsible for improving cash conversion cycles for corporations and municipal clients, identifying and meeting customer needs and expectations by providing financial solutions, cross-selling and collaborating with internal partners.
Sims has also demonstrated their knowledge of cash management trends across numerous industries to best position solutions to clients. Additionally, they have aided in relationship building initiatives and leveraged partnerships with other lines of business by maintaining open communication among clients and personnel. Most notably, Tim was able to retain numerous municipal relationships in response to RFP by utilizing their client relations knowledge to determine client needs.
Sims began their career in 2006 as a Treasury Management Sales Officer at Bank of America. Tim remained in this role until 2012 when they transitioned to SunTrust Bank. Tim held this position until 2015 when they assumed their current role at Virginia National Bank.
Tim Sims has a diploma from Western Albemarle High School in the College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program. Tim also has a German Studies degree from George Mason University. Tim is certified by the Association for Financial Professionals as a Certified Treasury Professional.
