Adam Smith, PMP, DASM

Adam Smith, PMP, DASM has a diverse work experience that spans across multiple industries. Adam began their career in the United States Marine Corps as a Supply Administration and Operations Specialist, where they managed inventory and performed technical research. Adam then served as a Marine Corps Embassy Security Guard, supervising multiple Marines and providing administrative support.

After leaving the military, Adam worked in the Office of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security, first as a Special Assistant for Military Affairs and later as a Defense Research Analyst/Legislative Liaison. In these roles, they conducted research, prepared reports, and provided support to state and local stakeholders on defense-related matters.

In 2013, Adam joined Virginia REALTORS® and held various positions, including Director of Governance and Committee Operations, VP of Program Management, and Senior Vice President of Member Programs. In these roles, they oversaw governance bodies, coordinated interdepartmental communications, and developed and executed education and outreach programs.

Throughout their career, Adam has demonstrated their expertise in project management and their ability to effectively coordinate and supervise teams. Adam holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM).

Adam Smith, PMP, DASM, obtained a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their degree, Adam has also acquired several certifications to further their professional development. In 2017, they obtained the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Adam then went on to acquire the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (ICYB) certification from the Project Management Academy in January 2020. Lastly, they obtained the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2022.
