Seth Shelley is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Assistant Bar Counsel at the Virginia State Bar since March 2022, where responsibilities include reviewing, investigating, and prosecuting complaints of attorney misconduct. Prior to this role, Shelley worked as an Assistant Attorney General at the Virginia Office of Attorney General, focusing on claims of innocence within the Conviction Integrity Unit. From November 2007 to January 2022, Shelley was involved with the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission, holding positions as Deputy Capital Defender, Assistant Capital Defender, Supervising Assistant Public Defender, and Assistant Public Defender, representing individuals in serious criminal matters. Seth Shelley earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Earth Sciences from Penn State University.
